Sam Barber is Organ Scholar at St John’s Notting Hill, London.  He started playing the organ at Holy Trinity in 2011.  He is in his first year studying trombone at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.  Sam studied organ to grade 8 (which he passed with distinction) with David Baker through the Halifax Organ Academy.

The recital will take place on Saturday 11 July at 7.30 pm at Holy Trinity Church, Huddersfield.  Refreshments will be served afterwards and there will be a retiring collection in aid of the African Children’s Choir and the upkeep of the Holy Trinity Organ.

Exam Successes!

Congratulations to Mark Ellis (grade 7) and Sam Barber (grade 8) on passing their organ exams recently. Both achieved distinction.

Sam has won a scholarship to study trombone at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, starting in September 2014.
