A festival not to be missedThe Cirencester Organ Festival was founded in 2010 to celebrate the restoration and improvement of the Cirencester Parish Church organ – a world-class Father Willis Organ built in 1895. The week-long festival, starting on April 22nd, includes five free week-day lunchtime recitals and three ticket-only performances, as well as a number of new events, including a children’s concert and musical wine tasting. Tickets are on sale now, available from the website www.cirencesterorganfestival.co.uk where you can also find out more about the festival and the full programme of events. Tickets are £12 each, or £30 for a passport ticket to all three performances. Tickets will go on sale in the church shop and tourist information centre at the end of the month. The festival runs from April 22nd to 29th, at Cirencester Parish Church. |

Goetze & Gwynn – Web page for Martin Goetze
A new web page for Martin Goetze has been created on the Goetze & Gwynn website; the website address is provided below:
http://www.goetzegwynn.co.uk/martin-goetze/
Also, a reminder about the celebration of the life and works of Martin Goetze
to be held on February 20th 2016 at 3.00pm at St Botolph Aldgate
Tim Roberts will play music by John Worgan, who was organist at St Botolph’s and a musician famous in his day. He will bring his new CD of the organ works of Worgan, which he has dedicated to Martin’s memory. Also playing will be Chris Farr, who was organist at St John and St Philip the Hague in the Netherlands, Goetze & Gwynn’s first new organ for which Martin was also responsible. David Butterworth, organist in Nottingham and a frequent and welcome visitor to the Goetze & Gwynn workshop, will also play.
The performances will take about an hour, and there will be tea and cake afterwards.
There will also be an opportunity to contribute to the training fund set up in Martin’s memory.
We look forward to seeing as many people as possible.
