Yorkshire Day organ concert – 1 August 2020
In celebration of Yorkshire Day 2020 East Leeds FM radio / Chapel FM Arts Centre will be broadcasting live from Leeds Town Hall on Saturday 1 August from 12pm. The programme will include a special concert by Leeds City Organist, Darius Battiwalla, on the Town Hall’s magnificent organ which was first played during the opening ceremony of the Town Hall attended by Queen Victoria in 1858.
This will be the first live performance at the Town Hall since the Coronavirus Lockdown (although with no live audience). Over the past 18 weeks the Leeds International Concert Season team, which delivers over 200 concerts a year at venues across the city and Morley Town Hall, has been working in line with government guidance to find ways in which to bring back live music safely to audiences, and is delighted to be working in partnership with Chapel FM on the journey to bringing live music back to Leeds.
Further details, including the programme, can be found via this link: https://www.leedstownhall.co.uk/whats-on/all-shows/yorkshire-day-organ-concert/6332
