On Thursday, 18th September, at 1.00pm, Alan will be giving an organ recital at Halifax Minster as part of their Heritage Festival. The programme will include works by Bach, Guilmant, Salomé, Flor Peeters, and will conclude with the Sonata on the 94th Psalm by Reubke. Further details can be found here.

Celebrating the life of Dr. Simon Lindley – Saturday 18th October
A day of musical events are planned at Leeds Minster on Saturday 18th October, to celebrate the life of Dr. Simon Lindley, who many people will have known and worked with over the years. The details below are all on the St Peter’s Singers website, as they are organising the events on the day.
At 12:30pm, three of Simon’s former assistants/organ scholars will give a recital on the Minster organ. Admission is free with a retiring collection. Further details on this page.
At 2:00pm a Come and Sing choir will rehearse for a performance of excerpts from two works:
- Handel’s Messiah Part I and Hallelujah chorus
- The Angel’s Farewell from the conclusion of Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius (with internationally renowned mezzo Margaret McDonald taking the solo role).

Tickets for the day are £20. You are asked to book your place in advance, and you will need to book a place by 6pm on the 15th October.
